Fisch receives BJ Long scholarship
Jordin Fisch, a second-year student in the Caruth School of Dental Hygiene at Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry, received the BJ Long Memorial Scholarship on Feb. 12. Members of the Dallas Dental Hygienists’ Society determine the recipient of the $1,000 award based on criteria including achievements, leadership, and influence on the student chapter of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association, as well as the professional ADHA chapter.
Fisch, whose future plans in dental hygiene include dental mission work and finding a dental home that values teamwork and long lasting patient relationships, says news of the award caught her off guard — in a positive way.
“I was so shocked by the honor I burst into tears,” says Fisch. “I did not know how large of a scholarship it was when I applied, so I was elated by the generosity of the funders.”
