Graduation ceremony set for Friday

After several years of hard work and study, 104 dentists and 29 dental hygienists have been certified to graduate during Texas A&M School of Dentistry’s 2023 commencement ceremony Friday, May 26, at the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House at the AT&T Performing Arts Center in Downtown Dallas.

The processional will be led by the 2023 Teachers of the Year Dr. Matthew Kesterke and Professor Leah Spittle. Speakers include students Carrie Bilbrey, dental hygiene; Yara Qubti, dental student; and Christian Lepure, graduate student.

At the conclusion of ceremonies, students will be officially welcomed into the Association of Former Students. As alumni of the Texas A&M University system, they are part of a network of alumni who continue to emulate the school’s core values throughout their career. Dean Lily T. García will also charge the students to remember that every member of the School, faculty and staff, take great pride in them and look forward to seeing what the future holds for them.

Where will graduation be held this year?

Texas A&M University School of Dentistry commencement ceremony will be held at AT&T Performing Arts Center – Winspear Opera House located at AT&T Performing Arts Center located at 2403 Flora St., Dallas.

What time does the commencement ceremony start?

The 2023 commencement ceremony begins promptly at 11 a.m.

Where do I park?

The AT&T Performing Arts Center offers underground, on-site, valet and self-parking options.

Is there handicap parking?

Handicap parking spaces are located on all levels of Lexus Red and in Lexus Silver, adjacent to the elevators. These spaces are available on a first come, first served basis.

What is the cost to park?

  • Lexus Red Self Parking: $20
  • Lexus Silver Self Parking: $17
  • Lexus Red Valet Parking: $30
  • Lexus Red Self Parking: $19
  • Lexus Silver Self Parking: $16
  • Lexus Red Valet Parking: $29

There is limited valet parking available at Lexus Red. Advance purchase is strongly recommended.

Is a ticket required to attend commencement?

No tickets are needed for admission and the commencement ceremony is open to the public.

How long is the ceremony?

The commencement ceremony last from an hour to an hour and a half.

Will pictures be taken during the ceremony?

Yes. A professional photographer will be on-site to take photos of each student during the ceremony. A free digital copy of each graduate will be available shortly after graduation. A link will be made available for downloading photos. Graduating students should check their tamu.edu email account for the link.

Can we take photos/videos during the ceremony?

Yes. You are welcome to take photos before, during and after the ceremony, but please be considerate when using flash photography during the program to avoid distracting speakers and interfering with the professional photographer.

Will commencement be streamed this year?

No. Unfortunately, we will not be allowed to stream the commencement ceremony live.
