Staff Development Day 2016

December 10th, 2015

Serious fun, serious results, with Tony Brigmon, former Southwest Airlines Ambassador of Fun

For a professional development day unlike any other, staff members should mark their calendars for Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016. As part of the day’s events, which will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the dental school will host Tony Brigmon, former “Ambassador of Fun” at Southwest Airlines, where he led customer care and employee development programs.

During Brigmon’s presentation from 1 to 3 p.m., Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry staff members can expect to experience how fun can create positive results with patients, students, faculty and co-workers. Using an “energize-engage-enrich” format, this presentation will explore challenges staff face, how to resolve them, and how staff members can impact the future of their institution.

With Brigmon’s more than three decades of speaking experience drawn from Southwest’s best practices and 2,000 event presentations to date, here’s just a glimpse at what some attendees have to say about his attitude-focused message:

“Whole presentation customized to us and even sent us home with a success formula geared toward our company name.”

“Tony totally moved the crowd to participate. I never saw anything like it. At one point, he had our membership interacting in fun, with over 3,600 handshakes, high-fives, and even hugs, given out!”

“We have brought in speakers in the past, but Tony’s presentation was a whole new level of fun. He greeted our guests as they walked into the meeting, and right away the whole room’s energy shifted.”
