March 3rd, 2016

It’s common to see dental hygiene associate professor Lisa Mallonee’s name in local and national media as a result of her unique expertise — she is a registered dietitian in addition to being a registered dental hygienist.

Teaching Excellence Award for MalloneeAmong students, co-workers and peers throughout the state, she is known for her high standards and dedication to dental hygiene education, as evidenced by her receipt of the Texas Dental Hygiene Directors’ Association/Procter & Gamble Teaching Excellence Award. The award was presented to Mallonee Feb. 6 during the annual meeting of the Texas Dental Hygienists’ Association and the Student Chapter of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association in San Marcos, Texas.

The honor includes a plaque, $1,000 and a traveling trophy that will stay at Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry for the next year.

Mallonee shares this accolade with just three other faculty from the TAMBCD Caruth School of Dental Hygiene:

  • Kathleen Muzzin, 2013;
  • JoAnn Scofield, 2006; and
  • Marylou Stuart, 1995.
