Placing the needs of patients ahead of personal interests will be the focus of the 2016 Morris Minton Lectureship hosted by the Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry Faculty Development Committee on Tuesday, April 12.

Dr. Phyllis Beemsterboer, professor and former associate dean for academic affairs at Oregon Health and Science University, will discuss “Care versus Commerce: A Challenge to Professional Integrity” during the event.

The lecture is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. in Room 605 at the college and will be preceded by a reception at 4 p.m.

Named in honor of TAMBCD alumnus Dr. Morris S. Minton, the biennial Morris Minton Lectureship brings national and international leaders to the college to speak on issues of ethics and professionalism.

The event is open to all dentists, dental hygienists, TAMBCD faculty and students. Participants will receive 1.5 hours of continuing education credit.
