Dr. Mickey Vaclav, Class of 1974
Dr. Michael “Mickey” Don Vaclav of Amarillo passed away on July 23.
Vaclav, a past president of the Texas Dental Association and Panhandle District Dental Society, has practiced dentistry in Amarillo since 1975. He is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists and a past chair of the Council on Dental Benefits Programs for the American Dental Association.
Vaclav received the Gold Medal for Distinguished Service from the Texas Dental Association and was president of TDA’s Financial Services Inc. He served as chair of the Medical Care Advisory Committee for the State of Texas’ Department of Health and Human Services and volunteered with Heal the City in Amarillo, helping support its mission to provide free quality medical care and referral services to the uninsured.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Heal the City.
