The Class of 1964 returns to campus once again, this time with a thank-you gift in hand.

Nearly a year ago, members of the Dental Class of 1964 contacted the Office of Alumni Relations at Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry to request help planning their 50-year reunion. Staff provided a class roster to the committee members, who set to work finding lost classmates and lost addresses.

After the group’s January 2014 reunion weekend, they passed an updated Excel file back to the alumni relations office so databases could be revised. Also, like the class before them, the Class of ’64 “paid it forward” by sharing a reunion to-do list with the Class of 1965 reunion planners, offering them a head start for their 50-year milestone.

This enterprising class didn’t stop there. On March 17 two members of the 1964 reunion planning committee, Dr. Robert “Bob” Bettis and Dr. James A. “Arch” Archambeau, returned to the college to present a $1,543.46 check as a Baylor College of Dentistry Alumni Association class gift.

Big changes for Homecoming 2015

For those alumni out there who feel inspired to arrange class reunions of your own, two exciting developments are in store for next year, when the homecoming festivities will coincide with a new summer schedule for the Southwest Dental Conference.

In order to accommodate requests for dinner and dancing, a scaled-down reception at the Omni Hotel Dallas will occur on Aug. 7, 2015. A new event at Eddie Deen’s Ranch on Aug. 8 will provide alumni with a one-stop shop to gather with classmates over barbecue and dancing. More information will be shared as plans progress.
