Several sports dentistry honors for McNew
Dr. Danette McNew attended the Academy for Sports Dentistry 31st Annual Symposium in Philadelphia, where she received the fellowship award and was installed to the academy’s board of directors. The academy, an international association with more than 600 members, comprises dentists, athletes, trainers, physicians and dental technicians dedicated to providing information and research regarding athletic dental injuries and injury prevention.
On Sept. 5, McNew also received news that the academy selected her as a dental provider for Team USA athletes. In addition to being added to the United States Olympic Committee’s national medical provider database, McNew’s commitment involves creating custom pressure laminated mouthguards and providing a variety of other free services to Olympic athletes upon request, ranging from exams and cleanings to operative work and dental whitening.
